ICTD InfoBank: A Knowledge Sharing Portal on ICTD for the Asia-Pacific region
The ICTD InfoBank has been designed and developed by APCICT as a place for online convergence of like-minded individuals and organizations working to strengthen capacities in the use of information and communications technology for development (ICTD) in the Asia-Pacific region. The ICTD InfoBank does not attempt to duplicate the work of other ICTD portals, it aims to provide easy access to relevant resources on ICTD. The resources available in the ICTD InfoBank aims to support trainers and educators in building ICTD capacity, and assist policy makers in making informed decisions.
Resources on the ICTD InfoBank include: publications, reports, journal, articles, working papers, training manuals, guidelines, case studies, video and audio files, and multimedia materials, as well as web portals with links to relevant resources, and blog sites. Users can browse these different types of resources by various topics (e.g. e-commerce, e-governance), by country, or by organization that have published these resources.
The Toolkit is intended to assist regulators with the design of effective and enabling regulatory frameworks to harness the latest technological and market advances. Its most prevalent themes are the impact of changing technology, the role of competition, and the regulatory implications of the transition from traditional telephony to next generation networks.

This publication is one of the outputs from a project entitled "Development of e-business development services for SMEs in selected ASEAN countries and Southern China." The publication is based on findings from a desk study, a survey on the use of ICT by SMEs, six national stakeholders consultations, a regional workshop, two training workshops and four pilot projects. This publication includes a CD that contains, among other things, training modules in English and in six languages.
This undergraduate course uses the innovative potential of ICTs to deliver an exciting and intellectually challenging learning environment through the university’s Moodle Virtual Learning Environment. It includes lectures on: the theoretical context, development challenges and the role of ICT, e-government, education, health, rural development, small and medium enterprises, and monitoring and evaluation. Lecture materials include: audio files, lecture notes, powerpoint presentations, quizzes and discussions.

Agriculture is an important sector with the majority of the rural population in developing countries depending on it. The sector faces major challenges of enhancing production in a situation of dwindling natural resources necessary for production. The growing demand for agricultural products, however, also offers opportunities for producers to sustain and improve their livelihoods. ICT plays an important role in addressing these challenges and uplifting the livelihoods of the rural poor.
This article covers a wide range of areas in which ICT can support improvements in the quality of health care, including improvement of the qualifications and skills of health and medical professionals, increase public access to information on their health and how to be healthy, and increase in the efficiency of health services.

The widespread use of social media in the United States brings unprecedented connectivity that opens new horizons for physicians, ranging from interactions with patients, to communication with peers and the public, to novel approaches to research.
