<p>The course aims to enhance the capacity of policymakers to formulate
policies that promote women digital entrepreneurship. It focuses on the
development and transformation of the digital economy in general, and
on the opportunities and challenges facing women digital entrepreneurs
in particular, (including women who are already digital entrepreneurs,
and women who wish or might wish to become digital entrepreneurs).
The course is designed to increase policymakers’ practical knowledge
and understanding in both areas. In addition, the international case
studies, examples, and workshop exercises in the course will enhance
policymakers’ critical thinking and strategic perspectives in developing
policy action plans, both to promote women digital entrepreneurship and
to improve the digital business environment. It is envisioned that women
digital entrepreneurs can be can be uplifted, becoming a vital sector in economic and social
development and growth, and helping countries to realise the Sustainable
Development Goals (SDG) in the Asia and the Pacific region.</p><p>In many respects, this course relates to APCICT’s Women ICT Frontier
Initiative For Digital Transformation (WIFI DX) Women Entrepreneurs’ Track
programme, which was launched in April 2024 during the 80th Commission
Session of ESCAP. However, the course is not focused on the technical
aspects of the WIFI DX and digital business. Instead, it aims to enhance
the capacity of policymakers to develop policies to promote women
digital entrepreneurship. It should be noted that the contents of the
course should be customized to fit the socio-economic and environmental
context in particular countries.</p>

The Briefing Note Series aims to provide at-a-glance information of key ICTD issues for policymakers and to facilitate their understanding of the potential of ICT when formulating national development policies and programmes. This Briefing Note focuses on policy considerations drawn from "Open Data Policy Framework and Cases in the Digital Economy" Academy module.

In today's digital age, a strong online presence is essential for business success. This course is divided into two parts. The first half focuses on essential digital marketing skills, covering basics, social media, search engine marketing, SEO, and emerging trends like AI. The second half teaches building an e-commerce presence, including product research, operations, online branding, digital marketing, and expansion strategies through social media and partnerships.

This course content is also available in Telugu and Indonesian (Bahasa) language.

Businesses need proactive planning, especially after crises like COVID-19. A Business Continuity Planning (BCP) course, emphasizing technology, helps women entrepreneurs manage and overcome crises, natural or man-made. It covers core concepts, planning processes, tool usage, and encourages participants to outline key action points for their business continuity plans.

The Digital Empowerment of Women Entrepreneurs course is central to WIFI DX, offering vital insights into digital transformation and innovation. It lays the groundwork for strategic thinking in digital business evolution. By motivating and guiding entrepreneurs, it emphasizes the significance of other specialized courses like E-Commerce, Digital Marketing, Data Analytics, Trust and Security, and Business Continuity Planning within the WIFI DX program.
