National Strategy Information and Communication Technologies for Development in the Kyrgyz Republic

The achieved level and problems with ICT development in the Kyrgyz Republic determine the necessity to move away from a one-sided policy of just developing communications and information technologies to the formulation of a nation-wide strategy to integrate with the world information society.

ICT in Education in Central and West Asia Executive Summary

This publication presents and analyzes the major conclusions of research conducted in Central and West Asia in 2006 through 2011 to ascertain the impact of information and communications technology (ICT) investments on education. It presents a critical overview of the effectiveness of ICT policies and strategies in basic education in Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, with shorter studies on Afghanistan, Armenia, Georgia, and Pakistan.

UN-APCICT publishes case studies to promote open and distance learning

Recognizing the potential that open and distance learning has to improve access to education for people facing socio-economic or geographical constraints, the United Nations Asian and Pacific Training Center for ICT for Development (UN-APCICT) has published the Open and Distance Learning in Asia and the Pacific Case Study, the third issue of its ICT for Development (ICTD) Case Study Series.

CIS Sub-Regional Workshop and National Launch of Women ICT Frontier Initiative (WIFI) in Kyrgyzstan

The Asian and Pacific Training Centre for ICT for Development, in partnership with the Academy of Public Administration under President of Kyrgyz Republic (APAPKR), and Central Asian Research and Education Network (CAREN) co-organized the CIS Sub-Regional Workshop and the Kyrgyzstan National Launch of Women ICT Frontier Initiative (WIFI) on 24-27 April 2017 at the Academy of Public Administration in Bishkek.

UN-APCICT raises awareness on leveraging ICT for sustainable development to institutions of higher education for youth in Kyrgyzstan
