Armenia National Workshop on Digital Technologies for Disaster Risk Management

Asia and the Pacific is among the world’s most disaster-impacted regions and the number of disasters caused by the natural hazards in the region has increased drastically in recent years. The use of ICTs during all phases of disaster risk management presents substantial opportunities to reduce disaster risks, enhance resilience, and facilitate inclusive preparedness and response.  

Virtual Training of Trainers on Women ICT Frontier Initiative in Armenia

In partnership with the Public Administration Academy of the Republic of Armenia, the Asian and Pacific Training Centre for ICT for Development (APCICT/ESCAP) held a Virtual Training of Trainers on Women ICT Frontier Initiative in Armenia on 28-31 March 2022.

This virtual training follows the Centre's continuous efforts in strengthening women entrepreneurship, following the National Launch of the “Women ICT Frontier Initiative” (WIFI) programme and subsequent Training of Trainers in Armenia (2017). 

ICT Master Strategy for Republic of Armenia (Final Draft)

The Master Strategy aims to create a vibrant and sustainable ICT industry that promotes growth in other sectors of the Armenian economy, and position Armenia in the knowledge-based global economy.The Master Strategy strives to foster entrepreneurship to develop and sustain ICT business clusters utilizing skilled people, knowledge institutions, knowledge networks, and information and communication infrastructure.

ICT in Education in Central and West Asia Executive Summary

This publication presents and analyzes the major conclusions of research conducted in Central and West Asia in 2006 through 2011 to ascertain the impact of information and communications technology (ICT) investments on education. It presents a critical overview of the effectiveness of ICT policies and strategies in basic education in Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, with shorter studies on Afghanistan, Armenia, Georgia, and Pakistan.
