The Impact of the BBC World Service Trust's Afghan Woman's Hour: Results from a National Survey in Afghanistan

This report is an evaluation of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) World Service Trust (WST) radio project Afghan Woman's Hour (AWH). Broadcast since January 2005, AWH seeks to empower women by broadcasting programming on gender issues in the two main languages of the region, Dari and Pashto.

The first issue of the Asian and Pacific Training Centre for Information and Communication Technology for Development’s (APCICT) ICTD Case Study Series, ICT Human Capacity Building for Development discusses the experiences of ICTD practitioners who have partnered with APCICT to roll-out the “Academy of ICT Essentials for Government Leaders” (Academy). The Academy, APCICT’s flagship programme, is designed to equip government officials and policymakers with the necessary skills and knowledge to leverage ICT solutions for socio-economic development.

UN Helps the Afghan Government Develop Stronger Information Communications Technology

Afghanistan Government uses UN training to develop local ICT capacity. As part of the United Nations continuing effort to close the digital divide, a national training the trainers programme was held in Kabul, Afghanistan on 31 May - 4 June 2009 as a first step towards training decision makers in information communications technology (ICT).
