
In strengthening the capacities of government officials from ministries and departments responsible for disaster risk management, The Asian and Pacific Training Centre for ICT for Development (APCICT) in partnership with the World Food Programme and Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration and in collaboration with the Geoinformatics Center from Asian Institute of Technology and ITC-University of Twente will conduct training from 23-25 May 2023 in Sri Lanka.
Asia and the Pacific is among the world’s most disaster-impacted regions. The use of ICTs during all phases of disaster risk management presents substantial opportunities to reduce disaster risks, enhance resilience, and facilitate inclusive preparedness and response. Participants will analyze the terminologies and framework concerning disaster risk management, identify the data necessary for in managing disaster risk areas and look into practical ICTs applications in the area of disaster risk management and support disaster recovery.
