The Asian and Pacific Training Centre for Information and Communication Technology for Development (APCICT), ESCAP's regional hub on ICT capacity development, is embarking on a new flagship programme for women entrepreneurs in Asia and the Pacific, called “Women and ICT Frontier Initiative”(WIFI). WIFI aims to create socially and economically-empowered women through ICT-enabled entrepreneurship.  It endeavors to strengthen the capacity of women entrepreneurs to utilize ICT in support of their business and to strengthen capacity of government leaders and policymakers to create an enabling environment for ICT-empowered women entrepreneurs.

As part of this effort, the Centre organized a “Consultative Meeting on Women and ICT Frontier Initiative” on 14-15 April, Incheon, Republic of Korea. The meeting reviewed the WIFI training programme and its draft training content as well as identified roll-out strategies at regional, sub-regional and national levels.
