The widespread of ICTs has paved the way for a data revolution. This revolution offers governments new opportunities that can help increase efficiency, transparency, and improve public services. However, the slow adoption of data in governance can be attributed numerous reasons, including political and technical, such as the lack of data standards, poor data quality, poor information governance, and lack of appropriate policy frameworks.

High-Level Briefing on Digital Government for Maldives
The Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Technology of the Republic of Maldives and APCICT/ESCAP organized a High-Level Briefing on Digital Government on 23 June 2021. The virtual event aimed to deepen understanding among the country’s policymakers on how digital government can advance the sustainable agenda and their roles as champions of effective digital policies and programme. APCICT celebrates the Girls in ICT Day by imparting digital skills to girls and young women in Thailand
As part of the 2021 Girls in ICT Day celebration in Thailand, APCICT/ESCAP conducted trainings based on its Women ICT Frontier Initiative (WIFI) programme under the Entrepreneurship Track, with the objective of enhancing the knowledge, skills and abilities of young women and girls in using ICT tools and applications to support e-commerce startup and management.
