APCICT strengthens the capacities of Myanmar’s government leaders on utilizing ICT for sustainable development

The Asian and Pacific Training Centre for Information and Communication Technology for Development (APCICT/ESCAP) and the Union Civil Service Board (UCSB) of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar is co-organizing an ICTD capacity-building workshop on 31 July to 4 August 2017 at the Central Institute of Civil Service (Upper Myanmar).

The week-long workshop is part of an 8-week Executive Officials Management Course conducted annually by UCSB for the country’s senior government officials, in partnership with UNDP, World Bank, European Union, and APCICT/ESCAP. It is based on the Centre’s Academy of ICT Essentials for Government Leaders, a flagship training programme that aims to enhance awareness and skills of civil servants on leveraging ICT for sustainable development.

 

The workshop imparts training on various Academy Modules, including: ICT and Sustainable Development (Module 1); ICT and Project Management (Module 7) and Social Media for Development (Module 11). It is attended by 30 senior officials (Deputy Director General - level) from various government ministries and agencies.
