The role and mission for APCICT is to strengthen the efforts of the sixty two ESCAP member and associate member countries to use ICT in their socio-economic development through building the human and institutional capacity for ICT. APCICT has a membership of 62 Governments, 58 of which are in the region, and a geographical scope that stretches from Turkey in the west to the Pacific island nation of Kiribati in the east, and from the Russian Federation in the north to New Zealand in the south. Priority is given to least developed countries, landlocked developing countries, economies in transition, and the Pacific.
