Pacific Islands Forum Officials e-Government Workshop 2009
On 12-23 October 2009, government officials from Pacific Island states will take part in an intensive e-government training in the Republic of Korea, organized by the Pacific Islands Forum and the Republic of Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, with support from APCICT. APCICT will deliver Academy sessions on e-government and ICT project management.
Regional Workshop on the Enhancement of ICT Accessibility for Persons with Disabilities
The Regional Workshop on the Enhancement of ICT Accessibility for Persons with Disabilities will take place in APCICT's training centre. This workshop is jointly organized by APCICT, ESCAP’s Social Development Division and the National Information Society Agency. There will be about 40 government officials and 10 resource persons from Asia Pacific countries participating in the workshop.
IT Capacity Building Programme for Women in the APEC Region
APCICT is supporting the design and delivery of the IT Capacity Building Programme for Women in the APEC Region, in Seoul, Republic of Korea on 7-18 September 2009. This is an annual training programme organized by the Korean Ministry of Gender Equality (MOGE). This year 25 women policymakers from 12 APEC economies will participate in the programme.
IT Capacity Building Programme for Women in the APEC region: Indonesia
At the request of Indonesia’s Ministry of Women’s Empowerment (MOWE), APCICT is providing advisory support in designing and delivering a training programme on 25-29 May 2009 in Jakarta, Indonesia, in partnership with the Korean Ministry of Gender Equality (MOGE) and the Korea Productivity Center.

On 17-31 October 2009, government officials from Pacific Island states will take part in an intensive e-government training in the Republic of Korea, organized by the Pacific Islands Forum, the Republic of Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Global e-Policy and e-Government Institute of Sungkyunkwan University, with support from APCICT. APCICT will deliver Academy sessions on e-government.

The workshop, co-organized by ESCAP’s Social Development Division and UN-APCICT will be participated by 20 experts from the fields of disability and ICT, from six different Asian countries.
2008 APISC Security Training Course
Un-APCICT is supporting the 2008 Asia Pacific Information Security Training Workshop organized by the Korea Information Security Agency on 1-5 September 2008 in Seoul, Republic of Korea.
Training Course for the Production of Statistics on the Information Economy
The Training Course for the Production of Statistics on the Information Economy will take place on 18-22 February 2008 in Incheon, Republic of Korea. This is the first time this course will be delivered in the Asia-Pacific region for Asia-Pacific participants. It will be hosted by APCICT, and delivered in collaboration with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the United Nations Statistical Institute for Asia and the Pacific (UNSIAP).
High Level Seminar on e-Governance in Nepal
This high level seminar will take place on 5-6 May 2007 in Kathmandu, Nepal, in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank Institute and the National Information Technology Center of Nepal. It will be co-sponsored by Nepal's High Level Commission for Information Technology, IBM, Microsoft and Nepal Resident Mission of the Asian Development Bank. The goal of the seminar is to get consensus on major issues of e-government programmes through expert consultation and group discussions.
Distance Learning on e-Business Strategies
This distance learning course on e-Business Strategies will be offered from 29 January – 27 April 2007 as a joint collaboration with the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI) and financial support from Microsoft. More than 350 government officials and business managers will participate in the course. Modules to be taughut include best practices of e-business and commerce. The participants will design e-store websites using the software templates developed by ADBI. Participants will be able to use the websites to sell their products and services online. This course will be managed by the Asian eLearning Company in Nepal.
First Regional Training - Planning, Designing, Implementing and Managing e-Government: Key Issues, Case Studies and Lessons Learned
UN-APCICT will organize a Training Programme entitled: Planning, Designing, Implementing and Managing e-Government: Key Issues, Case Studies and Lessons Learned. The Training Programme will be held from 7 to 9 March 2007 at UN-APCICT, Incheon, Republic of Korea in conjunction with the Regional Forum on ICT Capacity Building: Where are we, where are we going and what will it take to fill the gap. The Training Programme is a joint collaboration with the Korea IT Industry Promotion Agency (KIPA).
International Entrepreneurship Training for Women: APEC Women’s e-Biz Training
UN-APCICT, International Telecommunication Union (ITU), APEC Women’s e-Biz Center and the Asian Pacific Women’s Information Network Center (APWINC) will co-organize the International Entrepreneurship Training for Women: APEC Women’s e-Biz Training 2007 (WeBiz 2007) on 16 - 21 July 2007 in Sookmyung Women’s University, Seoul, Republic of Korea. The training course seeks to equip women with knowledge, skills and confidence to become the entrepreneurs in the new knowledge-based society.
Second Planning, Designing, Implementing, and Managing e-Government Training: Key Issues, Case Studies, and Lessons Learned
The week-long training workshop on 8-12 October 2007 in Incheon, Republic of Korea, will attract about 40 high-level officials from national ICT ministries and planning agencies in 21 countries. Participants will share their experiences and learn good practices on developing e-Government strategies. They will also strengthen their understanding of the technologies currently available for building e-Government applications and e-Services.
Training for Women’s IT Capacity Building in the APEC Region
UN-APCICT, Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), Asian Pacific Women’s Information Network Center (APWINC), Ministry of Gender Equality and Family (Republic of Korea), and Ministry for Women’s Empowerment (Republic of Indonesia) collaborate to organize this training course for 30 female representatives from Women Empowerment Unit and Communication and Information Office at both province and district levels of Indonesia.
